Nom Nom

In addition to photography, I LOVE to cook!  Seafood is my all time go to and one of my favorite things to do is recreate specialty dishes.  If you love ahi-tuna like I do then you must give this recipe a try!!

Spicy Ahi-Tuna Stack

Things you’ll need:

  • 6oz of sushi grade ahi-tuna
  • 1 jalapeno pepper
  • 1/2 of a cucumber
  • 6 wanton wraps
  • 1 tbsp of siracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp of rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp of wasabi powder (add more for extra spice)
  • 1 cutting board
  • A knife
  • 3 small mixing bowls
  • Measuring spoons

An adjustable measuring cup (not a must but helps with the stack)

Alright…have everything you need? Lets get cookin!

First:

Dice up the cucumber, jalapeno and ahi-tuna into bite-sized chunks and combine the cucumber and jalapeno together only.  Next, in a separate bowl, mix the siracha, rice vinegar, soy sauce & wasabi powder and pour half over the diced tuna and half over the cucumber/jalapeno combo.

Now you’re ready to stack!

A cool gadget to have in the kitchen is an adjustable measuring cup – thanks grandma!  Starting with the tuna, build the first layer.  Next, layer the cucumber/jalapeno combo on top and add another layer of tuna over it.  Repeat this process till you’re out of tuna.  You want to make sure the tuna is at the top and the bottom of your stack.

*If you do not have an adjustable measuring cup, you can still create your stack by placing a saran wrap sheet down in a small bowl, layer and refrigerate.
